When will I see Results?
With Botox® and Dysport® you may begin to notice results within 24 to 48 hours for moderate to severe frown lines, with results lasting up to 4 months. Juvéderm® results are instant and last up to a year.

How long is the recovery time after treatment?
After your treatment, you can resume your day. There is minimal downtime and you will be given specific aftercare instructions.  Some patients experience mild pain and redness at the injection site and in some cases swelling and bruising may occur.

How do I choose between Botox injections and Fillers?
Both are designed to treat deep lines and wrinkles, however they are used to treat different problem areas . Typically, Botox® and Dysport® are designed to target moderate to severe lines and wrinkles in the upper portion of the face such as frown lines and crows feet. Juvéderm® is designed to treat the lower portion of the face which has moderate to severe volume loss or those looking for lip augmentation because they naturally have thin lips and simply desire more fullness. Many patients enjoy the benefits of both and your medical professional will determine which treatment is best suited for your needs and goals.

What is Botox® and Dysport®?
Botox® and Dysport® is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulism bacterium, which temporarily weakens the activity of the muscles that cause expression lines to form over time. Botox® and Dysport® are not a poison and is not botulism. Both Botox® and Dysport® are a neuromodulator that effectively treats dynamic wrinkles – those that form when we make facial movements such as squinting or frowning.  Botox®and Dysport® are injected into these muscles to temporarily reduce muscle activity. You will begin to notice a visible smoothing of your crow’s feet lines and frown lines between your brows. Deep static wrinkles that appear on the face when we are at rest are best treated with skin resurfacing or dermal fillers.

What is Juvéderm®?
The  Juvéderm® collection of fillers is made from hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is that it’s a natural substance already present in the skin that delivers nutrients, helps the skin retain moisture and softness, and adds volume. Each product in the  Juvéderm® collection of fillers is made from a modified form of HA.

Will it look like I have had work done?

Facial aesthetics is a technique-sensitive treatment and you should not lose the ability to show expression when you are treated by someone who is licensed, trained, and a medical expert in facial anatomy. It is important to talk to your medical professional about the results you want from treatment.

Is it painful?

Some patients report that being injected with Botox® and Dysport® feels like a pinch. Your medical professional may use ice to numb the treatment are if you area concerned about discomfort. The Juvéderm® collection contains lidocaine to help minimize discomfort during treatment and your medical professional will use a topical anesthetic to numb the treatment area prior to injection.
